Look at the Birds

One of the things I enjoy about our home are watching the birds as they come to the bird feeders outside our living room window.    Among the birds we have seen feeding at the bird feeders are cardinals (which are pictured above.)       Our grandchildren, Eloise and Madelyn (who are visiting with us now), also enjoy watching the antics of the birds.  Madelyn also enjoys helping me weekly fill the bird feeders.
As I watched the birds recently, I was reminded of this verse from Matthew 6:26-27 which says:

26 Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? 27 Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life[a]?

I see so many people each week worrying about this and that.   I am told that most of  the things that we worry about never even take a place.     While it is enjoyable to watch the birds, perhaps it would be even better to be more like the birds.  And as we become more like the birds and worry less,  I think that we also will find ourselves be more Christ-like.  Have a great week.-  Pastor Randy Wall

Prayer:   O God,  we thank you for life and love, for faith and forgiveness.  Help us to worry less and trust you more;  through Jesus Christ our Lord.  Amen.
